In 2014, OnePlus introduced its first smartphone, which proved that a device with top components does not necessarily have to cost a fortune. So the Finnish company Eve Tech wants to start, with its first model Eve V, which will not only be almost as effective as Microsoft’s Surface Pro, but also not less than high-quality.
Eve V was created with the participation of a large number of people. This is a start-up, the money for the development of which was taken from many sources. The main task of this manufacturer was to create the best possible computer 2 in 1, with excellent components, the price of which would not frighten customers. The result is a hybrid, which has a very good specification, both at its price.
Eve V – Specifications:
- processor: Intel 7th generation from the “Y” series (Core m3 / i5 / i7);
- RAM: 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR3;
- Memory: from 128 GB to 1 TB PCIe SSD;
- Display: 12.3 inches IGZO 2880 x 1920;
- 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB-C port, 1x Thunderbolt 3 port;
- removable keyboard;
- Stylus N-Trig with 1024 levels of sensitivity;
- Fingerprint’s scanner;
- dimensions: 295.9 x 205.3 x 8.9 mm.
Eve V is not a tablet for players, however, the 2 in 1 design often carries with it significant limitations. But thanks to the Thunderbolt 3 connector, you can always connect an external video card to it.
Nothing is perfect. Yes, this hybrid looks like Microsoft’s new Surface Pro, and runs on Intel 7-th generation processors, but it’s the weaker processors from the “Y” series, and not from the “U”, which we are used to in this type of construction. This decision was made consciously, because, according to the Eve Tech team, “this will prolong the battery life, and even the U-series processors will not be able to operate at the highest frequencies without throttling.”
There is another interesting idea used in Eve V – it’s a keyboard. It can work even after disconnecting from the tablet (like a Bluetooth keyboard), which distinguishes this design from Surface Pro, where after turning off the keyboard you can only count the touch screen.
And an interesting fact: the backlight of the keyboard is available in 7 colors – this is such a curtsey towards fans of rainbow gadgets.
The preliminary sale of Eve V starts on December 4, and its duration will depend on how many pieces of equipment Eve Tech will allocate for the premiere and the interest of potential buyers. Given the price – it is possible that the hybrids disperse very quickly.
For a model with an Intel Core m3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB disk, you will have to pay $ 799. The top model, the version with Intel Core i7, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD, you can buy for 1999 dollars. The version with a 512 GB SSD costs $ 1,599, which is $ 860 less than Surface Pro with a similar configuration. But here we need to note again that Eve V uses a weaker processor, although I think that for such a price many people will forgive it for such an error.
