For a long time I did not have a smartphone in my hands, about which I could say that it makes me nervous. This turned out to be the new creation of the Finnish company, namely Nokia 3, that is, the cheapest product from the portfolio of this manufacturer. This is a smartphone, which, unfortunately, I can not recommend to you. Below you will find out why.

The hull, of course, can be liked.
Looking for a few advantages of the smartphone Nokia 3 will take you very little time – this is its design. Despite the fact that the phone case is not completely made of aluminum, it looks very good. Probably, this is influenced by simplicity, minimalism and matte plastic of good quality, which, in combination with an aluminum frame, can appeal to many. And it’s not just my opinion – many of my friends looking at Nokia 3 claimed that this device they like. Plastic, matte body also has its advantages – it does not get too dirty, does not collect fingerprints and does not scratch.
At the top of the right side of the phone, there are volume buttons, and just below – the switch. Usually they are much lower, but you get used to it very quickly. Buttons are well felt under the fingers, and their work satisfied me. On the left side you will find two boxes – one hides two slots for nanoSIM cards, the second one, which is below, a slot for the microSD memory card, with which you can expand the internal memory.
The speaker is on the bottom edge, it’s pretty quiet, and its quality is below average. Next to it you will see a microUSB port with USB-OTG support, that is, with the possibility of connecting a flash drive, and a little further – one of the microphones. On the opposite side there is a second microphone and a 3.5 mm audio jack, which does its job much better than the speaker – the sound quality in the headphones is satisfactory.
Two significant drawbacks to this model are the lack of backlighting of system buttons, and the lack of a notification LED. Nokia 3 is also a smartphone in which there is no fingerprint scanner, and it is now very popular and is present even in budget smartphones.
But on this plus …
Nokia 3 is a smartphone that requires us immense patience. I really wonder who this phone is for. Adults and even teenagers will lose their temper when they have to run an application, because during the time that it is loaded, you can go boil your water for tea. Children also will not be happy with this device, because patience is not their strength, and with games Nokia 3 also copes very badly.
How did Nokia 3 show themselves in synthetic tests? Here are the results of the most popular tests:
- AnTuTu: 27873
- Geekbench 4:
- Single core: 532
- Multi core: 1406
- Ice Storm: 4503
- Ice Storm Extreme: 2441
- Ice Storm Unimited: 3681
The undoubted advantage of Nokia 3 is that it runs on Android Nuga in its pure form – it is not loaded with unnecessary applications and there is no overlay of the manufacturer that could spoil everything. Unfortunately, although the system is clean, it can not boast of stable and uninterrupted operation.
The display is quite normal.
Due to the fact that Nokia 3 has a 5-inch display, it is one of the few representatives of the segment of comfortable and moderately compact smartphones. I must admit that in my hand it lies very well and there are no problems in using one hand.
The display itself, looks quite good – it did not disappoint me. The matrix has a diagonal of 5 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, that is a low standard, but acceptable (for clarity I’ll add only that in this price range there are models with Full HD, so it’s worth to have it in mind).
The maximum and minimum brightness are quite good, the viewing angles are also quite good, the finger glides very well on the screen. Here it is worth noting that in the settings there is no possibility of changing the color temperature or even the blue light filter, there is only the option of automatic brightness adjustment, thanks to the light sensor that is located above the screen.
What about the camera?
The camera also did not show itself on the good side – it’s not stable, once the effects are surprisingly satisfactory, at other times just bad (there’s no auto focus here), and I’m not talking about night photos that you can not say anything good about. It seems that 8 megapixels, both in front and behind, on paper look not so bad, but in practice they did not justify themselves.
The main camera records video in HD, that is 1280 x 720 pixels, I do not recommend video for my own voice, and then subscribers will start unsubscribing.
Battery for a day is enough.
The battery used here has a capacity of 2630 mAh, and in the hands of a less demanding user it is able to withstand a day of work without recharging. The test on the turned-on screen showed a result of 3-3.5 hours, which is a tolerable result; Once he even lasted 4.5 hours, when I watched the series through Wi-Fi. I think that the best results from a 5-inch device with a Mediateku MT6737 processor should not be expected.
You will not believe how long the charging process of Nokia 3 lasts … Because I myself could not believe it. But 100% on the phone screen appeared only after … three hours of charging. Really.
NFC is a pleasant addition.
In devices costing less than $ 700 this add-on is rare, fortunately, Nokia 3 is an exception.
This smartphone also has such communication modules as LTE, wi-fi, GPS and Bluetooth. With any of these modules, I did not have any problems, although it was not very easy to catch the first GPS fix, more precisely for a long time – then everything worked as it should. Call quality is at a good, quality level.
Nokia 3 disappointed me.
From Nokia 3, I expected something more, along with nostalgia related to the return to the market of the historical brand of phones, I was disappointed. People interested in buying Nokia 3 should be aware that this is a device about which it is difficult to give a positive feedback.
I found a few pluses in Nokia 3, but her work crosses out all of them. I can not recommend it to you.
