Oneplus 3 and 3T received the official upgrade to Android Oreo

Despite the fact that Android Oreo was released by Google in the second half of August, very few smartphones can boast of this system. Today Oneplus joined the group of lucky ones, its last year’s models – 3 and 3T – received an official update. Yes, you read correctly – last year’s models. The Chinese approached the question of updating quite differently than the rest of the producers.

The company took two months to ensure that Oreo for Oneplus 3 and 3T came out of beta and was officially launched as an update in OTA mode. The test version of the system was released in the first half of November. Along with the new version of Android, the Chinese provide the latest version of their overlays – Oxygen OS 5.0.

The update should automatically appear in the settings if you have the option to automatically search for updates. If you still do not have it, then you need not worry. A new version of Android is issued by the waves. If you do not want to wait, you can force it to update manually. You need to download any program for VPN from Google Play, install a different location, for example, Canada, and forcefully in the settings to re-search for updates. It should work.

The list of changes that your smartphone will receive after the update:

  • Android 8.0 Oreo;
  • parallel applications;
  • Picture in Picture;
  • auto filling;
  • smart typing;
  • a new kind of quick settings;
  • September security package.

  • Notification icons on application icons;
  • the ability to upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus;

The above update may surprise users, only owners of Oneplus 5 and Oneplus 5T will be disappointed, for whom the update will be released only at the beginning of next year (the beta version will appear later this year). In most cases, manufacturers first update the newest devices, but not Oneplus.

Thanks to the release of Oreo for OnePlus 3 and 3T, these models lose the chance for an official update to Android P.
