Asus ROG G703VI – notebook with a powerful specification … and a high price

Asus has expanded its range to another laptop from the Republic of Gamers family. It’s about a model that until now was known as the Chimera, but it was just a codename, as the device hit store shelves like the ROG G703VI. But this does not change the fact that we are dealing with an impressive product that offers the most powerful specification while still keeping the laptop’s mobility. Unfortunately, the price is also impressive.

Asus ROG G703VI is equipped with an impressive 17.3-inch IPS display with an update at 144 Hz, support for G-Sync technology, and a 100% coverage of the sRGB palette. The Taiwanese manufacturer did not bother with the resolution, because it is 1080p, but this screen is more suitable for playing games than devices with a resolution of 4K. The only thing that professional gamers may not like is the response time of the display, it is 7 ms, it can be a bit annoying. It should, however, be added that Asus also plans to release a version with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and 100% display of Adobe RGB colors.

Inside the case you will find the Core i7-7820HK processor, which was previously overclocked to 4.3 GHz, and nothing stands in the way to squeeze even more out of it. You can not also complain about the graphics, because here the manufacturer applied the GeForce GTX 1080 card (the operating system allows to overclock the GPU to 1974 MHz for the core and 10.3 GHz for the GDDR5X memory). These nodes work on a pair with 32 GB of DDR4 2800 MHz RAM (support up to 64 GB). On the data we get two disks on 256 GB SSD PCIe NVMe combined in RAID 0 and an additional hard disk by 1 TB.

The manufacturer used here an advanced cooling system, Anti-Dust Cooling, which prevents dust from settling inside, a mechanical keyboard with individual backlighting and support for NKRO and anti-ghosting technology, wireless Xbox controller support (without any additional modules) and 4 speakers working on digital-to-analog converter ESS Saber HiFi with output sound with 32-bit / 384 kHz sampling parameters. As for the ports, here we find 1x Thunderbolt 3, 4x USB 3.1 type A, Gen. 1, 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x mini DisplayPort 1.4, 1x Ethernet RJ-45, one SD memory card reader, 1x audio combo jack 3.5mm, and Kensington Lock. During the battery life, an 8-cell lithium-ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 74 Wh / h is responsible. The notebook weighs 4.8 kg, and the thickness of the case is 51 mm.

Asus ROG G703VI is already on sale and on Amazon it costs $ 3,499. We still do not know when it will appear in our country and at what price.
