Alcatel Idol 5 was supposed to go on sale in early October, but for unknown reasons, the smartphone was delayed for almost a month, but this is not the main thing, the main thing is that it already exists. Maybe it’s even better that it was delayed, because the device is slightly cheaper than the originally announced price.
Immediately after the official premiere of Idol 5 at the IFA 2017 in Berlin, we received information that in Europe the smartphone will cost $ 220. But just that the device appeared in electronics stores and in each of them near this model the price is indicated 210 dollars. The difference is small, but it’s always nice when you have a little money left in your pocket.
Due to the fact that there have been two months since the official launch of Idol 5, most of you probably already forgot what parameters this model offers. It is worth recalling that the smartphone is equipped with LTPS display with a diagonal of 5.2 inches, a ratio of 16: 9 and a resolution of Full HD, that is, 1920 × 1080 pixels, and their density is 424 ppi. The screen is under the protective glass 2.5D and has an oleophobic coating, due to which it does not remain fingerprints. Its heart is the eight core MediaTek MT6753 processor with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz (8x ARM Cortex-A53, 28-nm) and a graphics chip Mali-T720 MP3, 450 MHz. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory (at the disposal of the user there is only 8 GB), but it can be expanded with a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 128 GB.
What else does he offer?
Alcatel Idol 5 also offers a single main camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels, aperture f / 2.0, PDAF and EIS (electronic stabilization), and a 5 megapixel front camera with f / 2.4, although in both cases you can use the interpolation function of pictures up to – respectively – 16 Mp and 8 Mp. On its equipment, the smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner (on the back), a gyroscope, an additional Now Key button and a Dual SIM.
Alcatel Idol 5 runs on the Android 7.0 operating system Nougat and draws energy from a non-removable 2800 mAh battery (charging from 0% to 100% takes – for the information of the manufacturer – for three and a half hours!). Its body has the following dimensions: 148x 73 × 7.5 mm, and the entire smartphone weighs 155 grams.
